Inshore Flats Fishing in Fort Myers and Naples attracts a special type of angler as this region of Florida is a premier fly fishing and light tackle fishing destination for redfish, snook, trout and tarpon. Anglers flock to this region by the thousands to stalk large redfish, tarpon, and snook on the flats of Fort Myers, Sanibel, Pine Island, and Captiva Island in as little as 8 inches of water.
Saltwater flats fishing, Naples light tackle fishing, or sight fishing around these inshore shallows or flats can produce some very memorable and exciting adrenaline pumping adventures that will have you coming back to places like 10,000 Islands, Pine Island, or Captiva Island again and again. To actually see a trophy sized redfish swimming across the flats right before he takes your lure is something special to witness even for the advanced angler that has seen it many times before.
The back country and the flats fishing in Fort Myers, Naples, and the surrounding region offers some of the finest saltwater sight casting to redfish and the many other popular species that call this region of SW Florida home. And nothing makes a Fort Myers or Naples fly fishing or light tackle enthusiast happier than to feel the rod double over and see and hear the line strip off as a giant tarpon, snook, or big bull redfish fiercely and bullishly runs away from the boat in an all out attempt to shake loose the hook in his mouth and fight to regain his freedom.
This is Fort Myers Fishing and Naples inshore light tackle fishing at it's best and also when the serious angler gets to put all his mental and physical fly or light tackle fishing skills he has accumulated over the years to the test. This is the time to show patience and finesse as you fight a 20 or 30 pound fish on 8 or 10 pound test line in a foot of water. If you are ready for this type of fishing excitement and would like to fish with one of the top guides in the region then call Captain Terry Pitz at the number below.
